Ein neuer Tag - A new day

So meine Lieben, mittlerweile ist bereits der 12. Januar 2008 und ich habe mich langsam an die Wärme und die intensive Sonne hier in Buenos Aires gewöhnt. In der zweiten Nacht habe ich bereits ein bisschen besser geschlafen da es in der Nacht zum glück etwas abkühlt - gut dass die Stadt am Wasser liegt. Gestern habe ich noch versucht, mich mit meiner Wohnungsvermietung in Verbindung zu setzen, doch man wollte mich nicht anhöhren und liess mich einfach auf der Strasse stehen. Angeblich war bereits am Freitag um 14h niemand mehr von der Agentur vor Ort obschon die Öffnungszeiten bis 17h angegeben sind. Eine Dame erklärte mir via Gegensprechanlage dass ich doch am Montag wiederkommen soll. Sie versprach mir dann nach einigem nachhaken, dass mir sie jemanden von der Agentur zu erreichen sucht der mir dann zurückruft. Geschehen ist natürlich nichts...Ist wohl die Art und Weise wie man hier in Argentinien Geschäfte macht. Hatte dann aber gestern noch einen netten Kontakt mit einem weiteren Anbieter von Wohnungen den ich wohl aufsuchen werde, falls das hier jetzt nichts wird. Ich vermute mal, dass ich mein Geld nicht mehr sehe, wenn ich jetzt früher ausziehe. Dummerweise habe ich bereits den ganzen Monat bezahlt. Na ja, mal gucken was am Montag Sache ist, werde dann mal ordentlich auf den Tisch klopfen...smile.

Hello again, meanwhile is 12 January 2008 and I slowly get used to the heat and the intensive sun here in Buenos Aires. The second night I sleept already a little bit better than the first one. Thanks god that it really cools down here in the city durning the night, it's probably the closeness to the sea. Yesterday I tried to solve the problems with my appartment but unfortunately I couldn't reach anybody at the renting office at 2pm even they were open until 5pm. A lady told me over the interphone that nobody is in the office right know to help me but she will contact someone to call me back later in my appartment. I'm still waiting for that call til now... :-( Well it's probably the argentinian way to solve problems here. Well after all, I had an other contact to a renting agency today and they were very helpful. So if I cannot solve the problems with my agency I will leave this place here as soon as possible. Maybe I gonna loose all the rent I already paid for the month, which is 750 US$. But I try at least to get some money back on monday as the description of the appartment wasn't really true.


Gestern habe ich mal meine nähere Nachbarschaft zu Fuss erkundet und bin zuerst im Recoleta Friedhof gelandet, wo ja auch die berühmte Evita Perón begrab en liegt - Madonna habe ich nicht gesehen....smile.

Yesterday I walked around in my neighbourhood and visited first the famous Recoleta cemetery where also Evita Perón is buried. And no, Madonna didn't show up yesterday :-))





Es gibt zwar noch viele schöne und gepflegte Gräber doch auch einige die stark am verfallen sind. Abends rennen hier sicher die Toten rum und feiern wilde Partys....echt gruselig

There are many beautiful and well kept tombs but also you can find some very old ones which are almost ruinous. I'm sure at night the dead coming out their tombs and celebrate wild partys...spooky isn't it?

Wenn man genug Geld hat oder gaaaanz wichtig ist in Buenos Aires kann man sich auch eine etwas luxuriösere Variante eines Grabes leisten...



If you have enough money or are at least a very important person in Buenos Aires you can afford also a little bit more luxury for your tomb






Die Subte (U-Bahn von Buenos Aires) umfasst gerade mal 5 Linien und ist nicht gerade auf dem neuesten Stand. Doch man kommt damit gut durch die Stadt. Das Busnetz ist natürlich um einiges dichter und verkehrt 24 Stunden. Doch um sich darin zurechtzufinden braucht es einige Geduld!

The Subte (Buenos Aires subway system) has only 5 lines and is a little bit run down. But it's a good way to get around here. Also the bus network is pretty good and it's running 24hours but a real nightmare to find the right bus line!



Puerto Madero ist das ehemalige Hafenviertel von Buenos Aires. Es wurde in den letzten Jahren intensiv renoviert und mit schicker Promenade und teuren Restaurants aufgewertet.

Puerto Madero is the old dockland from Buenos Aires. It has been renovated and has become a really trendy neighbourhood with stylish restaurants.

Hinter dem Puerto Madero erstreckt sich zum Meer hin der Parque Natural Costanera Sur. Man kann hier wunderbar wandern und die Stille geniessen.

Right after the Puerto Madero lies the Parque Natural Costanera Sur. It's a great place for hiking and escape the noisy city.
