Hurra, ich ziehe um! Yippee, I got a new apartment!

Also der heutige Tag war ja bisland der heisseste hier in Buenos Aires, 34 Grad bei praller Sonne und auch jetzt, kurz vor Mitternacht, ist es draussen immer noch 29 Grad warm. Auch das sonst immer wehende Lüftchen vom Meer her hat mal Pause gemacht. Bei diesen Temperaturen bin ich heute mehr oder weniger den ganzen Tag durch die Stadt gelaufen wegen meiner Bleibe. Als erstes ging ich am Morgen zu meiner jetzigen Vermietung, die mich nun, nach einigem hin und her, aus dem Vertrag lassen. Ich bleibe nun noch bis Donnerstag in meiner Abbruch-Loft und ziehe danach in eine neue Wohnung um. Ich bin happy, dass ich wenigstens mein Geld wieder bekommen habe, hatte ja schon mit einem enormen Verlust gerechnet. Anyway - ich ging danach zu Ralf von ba4u Appartments hier in Buenos Aires. Ein wirklich lieber Kerl der mir sehr geholfen hat. Er hat mir insgesamt 4 Wohnungen resp. Studios gezeigt und ich habe mich dann für das Studio mit dem klingenden Namen "Afrika" entschieden. Ihr könnt die Bleibe unter http://www.ba4uapartments.com.ar/newsite/13_africa.html angucken. Es kostet mich zwar einiges mehr dafür ist es sauber, neu und gut eingerichtet. Der Besitzer selbst hat es "dekoriert". Einen kleine Haken hat das Ganze jedoch noch - ich kann dort nur bis zum 29.1. bleiben da dann bereits die nächsten Gäste anreisen werden. Doch auch hier gibt es bereits eine Lösung - ich kann dann für die restlichen Tage bis zu meiner Weiterreise am 9.2. in eine andere Wohnung umziehen.

Ich bekam dann von den netten Herren der ba4u auch noch einen guten Tip für ein Reisebüro das ich danach flugs aufsuchte zwecks Buchung eines kleinen Abstechers nach Iguazu zu den berühmten Wasserfällen. So Gott will fliege ich dann am 18.1. gen Norden wo ich 3 Nächte in einem 4 Sterne Hotel absteige. So Gott will wegen der momentanen Streiks an den beiden Flughäfen von Buenos Aires. Die Angestellten des Gepäckdienstes sind in einen wilden Streik getreten so dass kein Flieger der Aerolineas Argentinas mehr abheben konnte. Manche Leute steckten über 30 Stunden am Flughafen fest da sie bereits eingecheckt hatten und das Terminal nicht mehr verlassen durften. Chaotische Szenen spielten sich dann gestern ab, als aufgebrachte Passagiere anfingen, die Schalter der Aerolineas Argentinas zu zerstören. Zustände wie im alten Rom sag ich euch!! Ein Angestellter wurde vom Mob spitalreif geprügelt. Tja, die Gauchos lassen nichts anbrennen hier... Ach ja - eines hätte ich ja fast vergessen! Ich kann seit heute Bus fahren! Das hört sich jetzt vielleicht doof an doch sich hier im Busnetz zurechtzufinden ist keine leichte Sache. Es gibt keinen Routenplan wie in Zürich sondern man kauft sich einen sogenannten GuiaT und sucht dann zuerst mal seine Ursprungsstrasse und dann die Zieladresse. Wenn bei beiden Orten die Busnummern übereinstimmen, kann man diese Linie dorthin nehmen. Aber wehe es gibt keine Übereinstimmung, dann geht die Suche erst richtig los. Selbst wenn man mal die richtige Buslinie hat, ist das erst die halbe Miete. Denn man weiss ja noch nicht, wo der Bus denn nun genau durchfährt. Am Besten setzt man sich einfach rein und fährt mal ein bisschen. Die Route verfolgt man auf dem Stadtplan den man immer zur Hand haben sollte. Bis jetzt habe ich es erst einmal geschafft, wirklich auf Anhieb an den richtigen Ort zu fahren. Das ganze Vergnügen kostet ja auch fast nichts, für 90 Centavos (ca. 30 Rappen) fährt man im gleichen Bus wohin man will. So meine Lieben, die heutige Ausgabe meines Blogs endet hier. Versuche nun ein bisschen zu schlafen obschon das wohl schwierig werden könnte, da ja in meiner jetzigen Wohnung die Klimaanlage nicht funktioniert...

Hey it's me again. Today it was one of the warmest days since I'm here in Buenos Aires. The temperatures raised up to 34°C and even now, almost midnight, we still have 29°C!! Even the constantly blowing wind from the sea is taking a day off today. In this heat I had to run from place to place to fix that problem with my apartment. Luckily the agency let me out of my contract and paid me the rest of the rent back. So I just pay for one week and will move out by 17.1.2008. I'm more than happy that I didn't loose all the money. So I went then to a new agency called ba4uapartments here on Santa Fe Avenue. The agency is managed by a very lovely guy called Ralf. He was really helpfull to me and showed me 4 apartments around the aera. I finally took a Studio called "Africa", you can see some pics under http://www.ba4uapartments.com.ar/newsite/13_africa.html. It's more expensive than the place I'm in at the moment, but it's definately the better choice. So I will move in there by next thursday. Unfortunately I can only stay til the 29.1. After that date new people are moving in. But they promised me already to book for me another flat for the rest of my stay here in Buenos Aires before I move on on the 9.2.2008. So the guys from the agency gave me also a good address for a travel agency in the city called Viajes sin fin (endless travels). I booked there today a 4 day trip to Iguazu where the famous waterfalls are. So hopefully I can take off on the 18.1. because the luggage staff form Aerolineas Argentinas are on strike at both Buenos Aires airports. It's a complete desaster, I heard in the news that over 5000 passengers were stuck at the departing hall for more than 30 hours!!! There was almost no flight leaving the airport due this strike. A few of the passengers went really mad and started to destroy the counters of the airline. A really unpleasant situation. Well, so you can see what a real Gaucho is here in Argentina...

Oh yes, I almost forgott since today I'm a qualified bus traveller. This maybe sounds not really special to you but it is here in Buenos Aires. It's very hard to find the right bus line which takes you from one place to another. There is no lovely bus map with all the available lines. You can buy a little pocket guide called GuiaT with all the buslines. So if you want to travel from A to B you have to look first at your departing place what bus line runs through that street. Than you have to do the same with you destination. So if you find a bus line that has the same number in A and B it means that you can take this bus. But it's not sure then what route he's taking. The best way is to sit in the bus and follow the route on the city map, which you should never forget at home!! Until now I made it once to the right street corner at first go! So this adventure is v ery speap here, the bus fare is only 90 centavos which are about 20 cents. Ok, my todays blog ends here. I will now try to get some sleep - not a easy thing without air conditioning in the apartment...
